Initially you may find it helpful to seek a resolution directly with the person working on your case. If you choose to make a formal complaint then you can read our full complaints procedure here. Making a complaint will not affect how we handle your case.
If we are unable to resolve your complaint then you can, 8 weeks after making a formal complaint, refer the issue to the Legal Ombudsman which deals with complaints about the services of legal service providers such as:
• Delayed or unclear communication
• Problems with your fees, or
• Loss of documents.
Complaints to the Legal Ombudsman should be made within 6 months of receiving a final written response to your complaint and within 6 years of the act or omission about which you are complaining (or within 3 years of first becoming aware of it).

Solicitors Regulation Authority
The Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) also regulate Crossmans and deal with complaints relating to conduct and dishonesty. They have wide ranging powers if they uphold complaints against solicitors. Examples of matters which they may investigate are:
• Shutting down of a law firm without informing clients.
• Dishonesty or deliberately overcharging clients.
• Taking or losing client money.
• Treating a client unfairly because of age, a disability or other characteristic.
